Be Bear Aware:

The No. 13 Brown Bears extended their winning streak to four games with wins over Dartmouth and Harvard this weekend, 4-0 and 4-3.

Sophomore goaltender Anya Zupkofska (Braintree, Mass.) earned her third and fourth wins making 51 saves over the weekend. She stopped all 26 shots Friday against Dartmouth for her third straight shutout to open the season. Harvard did find the back of the net three times on Saturday to end her shutout streak at more than 180 minutes, but Zupkofska has already doubled her win total from last season and carries a 0.74 goals-against average and .965 save percentage.

Only two other goalies have recorded three straight shutouts this season: Penn State’s Katie DeSa (Sr., Pawcatuck, Conn.) and Cornell’s Annelies Bergmann (Sr., Detroit, Mich.).

Right to the Point:

Minnesota senior forward Josefin Bouveng (Vassunda, Sweden) is on a 13-game point streak dating back to the Gophers’ second game of the season on Sept. 26 against Boston University. She has 20 points during the run, with seven goals and 13 assists.

Wisconsin defenseman Caroline Harvey (Salem, N.H.) is close behind with an 11-game point streak that began Oct. 4 against Maine. Harvey scored her 43rd career goal on Saturday, surpassing Sis Paulsen (1999-03) for the most ever by a Badger defender.

Since the 2020-21 season, the longest point streak belongs to former Yale forward Elle Hartje (2019-24), who recorded points in 21 straight games. Her streak began Jan. 6, 2023, and continued into the next season before ending Oct. 21, 2023. She totaled 39 points during that stretch (11 goals, 28 assists).

Hawks are Soaring:

The St. Anselm Hawks swept conference opponent Long Island University this weekend, their first series sweep of the Sharks since 2020, snapping a 12-game winless streak.

Freshman goaltender Kayla Czukoski (Exton, Pa.) stopped 48 shots Friday, posting a .980 save percentage to earn her seventh win of the season. Saturday, the Hawks scored eight goals with six different players finding the net. Senior forward Brooklyn Schneiderhan (Helena, Mont.) and freshman forward Lauren Waldo (Livonia, Mich.) led the charge with two goals each.

St. Anselm is 9-1 in conference play, just one win shy of matching last season’s total of 10 conference victories.

Notebook Quotebook:

“It’s the main reason I came here. Just the feeling you get being a BU hockey player and knowing the support that we have of the administration and of the university and of the fans and the dog pound and the BU band, I could go on for days. It means all the world to us.

— Boston University senior forward Clara Yuhn (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) reflected on her experience as a Terrier following BU’s game against Boston College, which drew a program-record home crowd of 3,965 fans (source: BU Athletics).

PWHL Note of the Week:
