The United States Collegiate Selects hockey team has announced addition of Quinnipiac sophomore forward Chris Pelosi to the squad headed to the 2025 Spengler Cup. He will join the 24 student-athletes participating in the 97th edition of the prestigious international event in Davos, Switzerland, this December.

A 2023 draft choice of the Boston Bruins and a native of Sewell, N.J., Pelosi has picked up his production recently, totaling 11 of his 18 points on the season since a November 8 win over Brown. This uptick in scoring has played a key part in the Bobcats’ six-game winning streak and was highlighted by his hat trick against Clarkson on November 21 – the first by a Bobcat this season.

Pelosi’s 11 points over that span is tied for the most in the country. He has recorded a point in six consecutive games and nine of his last 10 dating back to an October 24 bout at Merrimack. He has enjoyed a standout sophomore campaign, currently sitting with six fewer points (18) than he had all of last season (24), and he has already doubled his output on the power play from a season ago, scoring four times.

The complete 25-player roster consists of 15 forwards, seven defensemen, and three goaltenders. Nine are from the Big Ten, six are from Hockey East, five are from the NCHC, two each are from the CCHA and ECAC Hockey and there is one representative from AHA.

Forwards (15): Owen Beckner* (Colorado College), Charlie Cerrato (Penn State), Matt DiMarsico (Penn State), Aiden Fink (Penn State), Quinn Finley (Wisconsin), T.J. Hughes (Michigan), Cole Knuble (Notre Dame), Martins Lavins (New Hampshire), Joey Muldowney (UConn), Jack Musa (UMass), Danny Nelson (Notre Dame), Chris Pelosi (Quinnipiac), Zam Plante (Minnesota Duluth), Jack Stockfish (Holy Cross), Ryan Walsh (Cornell), JJ Wiebusch (Penn State).

Defensemen (7): Vinny Borgesi (Northeastern), Mac Gadowsky (Penn State), Larry Keenan (UMass), Jake Livanavage (North Dakota), Gavin McCarthy (Boston University), Eric Pohlkamp (Denver), Abram Wiebe (North Dakota).

Goaltenders (3): Adam Gajan (Minnesota Duluth), Josh Kotai (Augustana), Alex Tracy (Minnesota State).

All returning First and Second-Team AHCA/CCM All-Americans received an automatic invitation to the team. The remainder of the roster, which includes representation from all six conferences, was constructed by the USCS coaching staff and organizing committee, with guidance from the NHL scouts.

The United States Collegiate Selects will face Team Canada to open play Spengler Cup play on December 26. Each team will play a minimum of three contests and maximum of five during the six-day event.

The tournament is being broadcast to over 20 countries, either through a partner or via livestream. Official word on how the games can be seen in the United States will be announced at a later date.

The U.S. Collegiate Select team is made up of 25 student-athletes from across NCAA men’s ice hockey. The competition runs from December 26-31, with the six participating teams. Along with the Selects, host HC Davos, Team Canada, HC Fribourg-Gotteron, Sparta Praha and IFK Helsinki will be taking part in the 2025 edition.
