The No. 9 Princeton Tigers are riding a nation-leading 11-game winning streak, propelling them to the top of the ECAC Hockey standings. Just seven points separate the top seven teams in the conference, setting up an exciting run to the conference tournament.

The Tigers are led by senior forward Issy Wunder (Toronto, Ontario), a 2025 Patty Kazmaier Top 10 finalist, and sophomore forward Mackenzie Alexander (Etobicoke, Ontario). The duo ranks second and third in ECAC scoring, trailing only Quinnipiac junior forward Kahlen Lamarche (Sudbury, Ontario).

In second place, just four points back, is No. 13 Yale, which is riding a six-game winning streak that includes an upset of No. 6 Northeastern. Senior forward Carina DiAntonio leads the Bulldogs with 29 points and is on pace to surpass her career-high 34 points from last season. Senior forward Jordan Ray (Viera, Fla.) is close behind with 26 points and recently surpassed the 100-point mark for her career.

In third, Quinnipiac sophomore goaltender Felicia Frank (Gävle, Sweden) leads the conference with 17 wins. Her .943 save percentage and 1.38 goals-against average top the ECAC among goaltenders with more than 10 games played this season. The Bobcats trail Yale by a half point in the standings.

In fact, just a half point separates Yale and Quinnipiac, Quinnipiac and Brown, and Brown from Colgate and Cornell, which are tied with 22.5 points. Clarkson sits a point-and-a-half back with 21.

With about 10 games remaining in the regular season, the ECAC race is just getting started. Playoffs begin Feb. 20 or 21 with a single-elimination first round, as seeds five through eight host seeds nine through 12. The winners advance to the league’s best-of-three quarterfinals, hosted Feb. 27–March 1 by the highest remaining seeds.

Beginning this season, championship weekend will be held in Lake Placid, N.Y., with the semifinals scheduled for March 6 and the championship game on March 7.

Déjà vu at the Beanpot:

The 47th annual Women’s Beanpot is underway, with the title round set to be played at TD Garden for the third consecutive year. The 2025 Women’s Beanpot championship game drew an attendance of 13,279, the largest crowd in the tournament’s 46-year history.

On Tuesday, Harvard defeated Boston College, while Boston University upset Northeastern to advance to the championship game. Following the third-place game, Boston University and Harvard will meet for the title in a rematch of their recent series in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Stacking the Stats:

There are 13 goaltenders who have recorded an assist this season, including two with multiple helpers: Providence graduate Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) and Colgate sophomore Farah Walker (Calgary, Alberta), who each have two.

Since 2020, 76 different goaltenders have recorded at least one career assist. Former college netminders Aerin Frankel (Northeastern ’22) and Amanda Thiele (Ohio State ’25) lead the group with five career assists apiece. UConn’s graduate Tia Chan (Hamilton, Ontario) leads all active goalies with three.

Notebook Quotebook:

“I think right from the very get go, I thought our team was playing with confidence. Playing connected especially like we were not afraid to play in our defensive zone. That’s obviously a really talented team, and our structure was awesome, right? Right from the drop of the pock from the beginning of the game, all the way through to the end. So that was a really fun game for me as a coach to watch them execute like that. I think that was like one of the most complete games that we’ve played so far.”

— Minnesota Duluth head coach Laura Schuler (Northeastern ’94) praised her team’s effort against No. 1 Wisconsin after the Bulldogs skated to a 1-1 tie and earned the extra point in the shootout. It marked UMD’s first tie against a No. 1 team since a 2-2 draw with Minnesota in November 2019.

PWHL Note of the Week:

The Montreal Victoire defeated the Ottawa Charge on Tuesday to snap the league-best six-game winning streak. The Charge had defeated the Boston Fleet 2–1 in a shootout Sunday afternoon before a sold-out crowd of 10,452 at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax as part of the PWHL Takeover Tour.

The Victoire remain unbeaten at home, improving to 3-1-0-0. Shiann Darkangelo (Quinnipiac ’15) recorded a goal and an assist in the win.

Fries at the Bottom of the Bag:

On Friday, Vermont junior forward Lauren O’Hara (Blaine, Minn.) notched an assist in her 100th career game, and sophomore teammate Oona Havana (Turku, Finland) recorded the first multi-point game of her career in the Catamounts’ 4-1 win over Merrimack … Penn State freshman goalie Maddy Campbell recorded her third shutout of the season on Friday, tying the Nittany Lions’ freshman record … Yale freshman goalie Samson Frey (Northport, N.Y.) posted two wins last weekend to improve to 6-0 to start her career, including three shutouts … St. Thomas swept Bemidji State to surpass the program record for most wins in a season in the Division I era … Wisconsin graduate Lacey Eden (Annapolis, Md.) leads the nation in plus-minus at plus-38 … Mercyhurst sophomore goalie Magdalena Luggin (Vienna, Austria) made 36 saves in the Lakers’ overtime upset of No. 4 Penn State on Friday … Holy Cross leads the nation in penalty-kill percentage at 92.5% … Colgate senior forward Elyssa Biederman (Franklin, Mich.) recorded a nine-point weekend with four goals and five assists and scored the GWG in both wins over Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
