Gajan, Hobey Trio Highlight NCAA Men’s Players Competing in Olympics
28 Different Schools Represented in Men’s Hockey Tournament in Italy
Forty-nine former and current NCAA men’s hockey players will compete in the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games when the men’s hockey tournament gets underway on Wednesday, Feb. 11 in Italy.
Minnesota Duluth sophomore goaltender Adam Gajan (Slovakia) and 48 NCAA alumni are among those competing for a gold medal in men’s hockey, representing 28 different schools. Boston University has the most representatives with six players, followed by Michigan’s four. Clarkson, Minnesota, Minnesota State and Robert Morris have three players each.
The group includes past Hobey Baker Memorial Award winners Macklin Celebrini (2024), Cale Makar (2019) and Jack Eichel (2015).
Nine of the 10 participating countries have NCAA representation, topped by the 20 players on the United States roster. Germany and Latvia are next with six players each, followed by Italy and Canada with five and four, respectively:
