With only two weeks remaining in the women’s college hockey regular season, much of the nation’s attention will rightfully be directed toward the conference races, positioning for the NCAA Tournament, and the Olympics.

The NCAA individual scoring title is up in the air as the regular season inches to a close, and the Olympic Games could impact the final outcome. Minnesota graduate Abbey Murphy (Evergreen Park, Ill.) sits atop the national standings with 61 points (36G, 25A) in 26 games played. As pool play comes to an end the in Milan, Murphy and Wisconsin senior defenseman Caroline Harvey (Salem, N.H.) likely won’t see additional regular season action. Harvey sits third in national scoring with 54 points (17G, 37A) in 26 games.

Wisconsin graduate Lacey Eden (Annapolis, Md.) sits on Murphy’s heels in the scoring race with four games remaining on the Badgers schedule. Eden has 56 points (21G, 35A) in 30 games this season, including 22 points over her last 10 games. Murphy, Harvey and Eden are the three players to surpass the 50-point mark this season.

Fourth in the standings is Clarkson freshman forward Sara Manness (Winnipeg, Manitoba). Manness has 49 points (21G, 28A) in 32 games this season with two regular season games remaining. She leads all freshmen in regular season scoring dating back to at least the 2018-19 season, when Sarah Fillier (Princeton ’24) and Alina Mueller (Northeastern ’23) each recorded 48 points.

2024-25: Mackenzie Alexander, Princeton – 42 points
2023-24: Joy Dunne, Ohio State – 32 points
2022-23: Alexis Petford, Stonehill – 41 points
2021-22: Vanessa Upson, Mercyhurst – 35 points
2020-21: impacted by covid
2019-20: Danielle Serdachny, Colgate – 31 points

Wisconsin standout Hilary Knight (’13) tied the U.S. Olympic women’s hockey career goal record with 14 in a 5-0 win over Finland at the 2026 Winter Games in Milan. The goal, a power-play tally in the second period, matched the mark previously set by Natalie Darwitz (Minnesota ’05) and Katie (King) Crowley (Brown ’97).

In the United States’ win over Canada, Knight recorded an assist, tying Jenny Potter (Minnesota Duluth ’04) for the most career points in U.S. women’s hockey history with 32.

“I just love scoring and just the pure elation of finding the back of the net,” Knight said. “It’s just a little kid moment that when you score, it’s pure excitement and it’s fun to celebrate” (source: ESPN).

We have the kindest, most incredible humans that have taught me skills and values that I will take with me for the rest of my life. I am forever indebted to this program and the people for everything they have added into my life. Quinnipiac has become my forever home with a forever family to come back to.”
