Sixty-six current, committed and former NCAA men’s hockey players will compete in the 2026 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Men’s World Championship, which begins Friday in Switzerland.

Fourteen of the 16 competing countries will have NCAA representation, led by the United States (23), Latvia (nine), Great Britain (seven) and Canada (six).

The rostered players feature nine active college hockey standouts, as well as the last three recipients of the Hobey Baker Memorial Award: Max Plante (Minnesota Duluth, 2026), Isaac Howard (Michigan State, 2025) and Macklin Celebrini (Boston University, 2024).

Forty-two different NCAA Division I schools and a pair of NCAA Division III programs will be represented during the tournament. Michigan State leads with six players, followed by Boston College and Minnesota Duluth with five each, and Minnesota with four. Alaska, Notre Dame and RPI each have three.

The 2026 IIHF Men’s Hockey World Championship takes place May 15-31 in Zurich (Swiss Life Arena) and Fribourg (BCF Arena), Switzerland.
